Fred Dibnah's Autobiography

I was looking forward to reading this book as my husband had enjoyed it so much. Although, like everyone else in the country I have a huge affection for Fred, and was fascinated by all his television programmes about bygone skills and crafts, I found the book to be a little dry. Like everyone else I was also fascinated with his complicated personal life, but his three wives all seemed to suffer from the same fate - abject neglect and his refusal to accept the confines of domesticity. I virtually skimmed the last half, but I shall still enjoy seeing repeats of his programmes as there really is, and never will be, anyone like him
